Flimsy Shower Tray.

I'm using the thetford shower tray with the cut-out for a C200 toilet. It arrived this week and seemed rather too flexible. After a bit of research on the SBMCC,I found a solution and this is how. Using some upvc d section I cut out some discs with a hole saw and glued them to the underside of the shower tray. Then made a cardboard template the same dimensions as the recessed area under the tray. This was then used to cut out a piece of 12mm ply. This was also glued down over the top of the discs. Once the glue has cured this process really stiffens up the shower tray.

Waste Water Tank.

The waste tank arrived this week , it's a 50 litre one from CAK tanks.
It came with 4 hook bolts to hang it under the van.Try as I might, I just couldn't get them to fix in any holes properly.I bought some lengths of threaded bar and drilled 4 8mm holes in the floor and hung the brackets on those. It has made a much sturdier job.

Rear view

Also managed to fit the camera kit and test if it worked. This is a chinese kit that I bought from EBay.The monitor is a good size and Theres quite a good camera view also.Have purchased another smaller camera to fit at bumper level and still have to fit later.

Split Charge Wiring.

Finished the split charge system at the weekend. I used the method of 100amp
Relay and smartcom relay, with some fuses and 16mm cable. Followed a diagram which was posted on the SBMCC forum and some advice from another member. Thanks Barry .
I have fitted my leisure battery under the drivers seat,it's a 125amp/hr. There's just enough room to add another soon. The fusebox is located in a well in the floor, behind the drivers seat.I will be adding an inverter and battery charger in here at a later date. Have checked the LB with a meter and all seems To be working fine.

Raised bed

Started planning the rear fixed bed today. We had to go to Ikea the other day and I managed to pick up a bargain bed frame. It was originally £65, but reduced to £19.50 as it had a broken slat.I needed to shorten it to 1865 mm which resulted in loosing one slat!  result! I've also narrowed the width to 1200mm and fixed it all back together.
For the frame I'm using 75x50mm timbers. One is to be fixed horizontal on the side ribs and then two vertical legs nearest the back doors. The other side will sit on some 18x40mm stud, which will form the bathroom wall on one side, and the wardrobe/ fridge wall on the other. This leaves a nice size garage under the bed for storage.I can't fix anything permanently yet until The waste tank and shower arrive.

Happy New Year.

Hello! I havn't posted for a while, so here's a quick update. I managed to get the floor battened insulated and boarded. Re fitted the ply to the sides. The fuse box didn't arrive in time so we bought some battery powered led lights. We were now ready for our Christmas trip to Spain.
Well it was quite an eventful trip! We arrived in France in the early hours and the Van decided to break down.It just cut out and wouldn't re start. After a day and a half in a Citroen garage it was still not fixed. Luckily we never leave the country without breakdown insurance.
So we set off in a hire car, picked the van up a week later. It was an electronic fault. Anyway we managed to spend our first night in the van at a camping car aire in Boulogne sur mer.
Now safely back home and ready to get going again.

Sliding door window fitting.

Bought the window for the sliding door this week.It came from Magnum motorhomes.Arrived next day and I got 5% discount with my SBMCC membership . I used the same process as the sliding window on the opposite side. The template was already made and the cutting of the hole went very smoothly. After making the wooden inner frame and offering it up, the upper and lower part of the frame needed notching out. This is because there is a bracing strut that sticks out and a 900 x 500 window is the biggest size that you can fit to this vans sliding door recess. I decided to use my router to notch out the batten, but after plugging in, it didn't work . So had to use my cordless trim saw.the frame was then glued into position and the window screwed in a couple of hours later.I'm really pleased with the end result. It's top hung as the Hob is going to be next to it, so the window cab be open in the wet. This keeps rain out and also let's cooking smells out simples .
